Fans and hub not showing in iCUE

Recommended Posts

The fans I got were Corsair iCUE QL120 RGB 120mm PWM Triple Fan with Lighting Node CORE and Corsair LL140mm RGB. I connected everything. The fans lighting turns on when I turn my PC on, but it doesn't show up in iCUE. I've tried so many things: uninstalling och reinstalling iCUE, check for updates. Unplugged and re-plug the cables etc. But it doesn't work... How do I get it to work, so I can customize the fans?

Based on the first picture alone you have not plugged the USB for the Lighting Node Pro into an internal USB 2.0 header on your motherboard.

You can try swapping it to the other usb 2 9 pin header next to it. You might also try reinstalling your chipset drivers and rebooting to make sure the devices can communicate through your motherboard.

It also appears based on your description you have connected 3x QL fans on the front and 2x LL fans on the top. This is going to force you to use a “QL fan x 4” arrangement in the CUE software and that is going to make the top two LL fans twin sides of a single QL fan and not separate LL fans. That may not be what you intended but they will all light up. The device you have connected is the Lighting Node Pro from the LL140 twin pack. When you tell it you have 4 QL in channel 1, it’s going to disable channel 2. There is no reason to use it for the combined QL/LL set and you can’t use the other fan channel.

Since you are having difficulty with the usb detection, you might as well disconnect the Lighting Node Pro usb and then connect the one piece Lighting Node Core from the QL pack. It looks like that RGB hub but is both power and controller in one box. Connect it for SATA and usb first before moving the fan connections. If it is not detected either, then you know the issue is on your hardware/driver side.

I did reinstall my chipset drivers, and the hub is now showing in icue, yay! But I can only control the fans on the top (2x LL140) and not the ones in the front (3x QL120).

I did switch places with the 2 cables connected to the usb port, it seems that only 1 is working

I figured it out! Thanks for the help!

The solution: After reinstalling my chipset drivers, the hub showed up in iCUE, but it only worked on two of the fans (LL140). I moved all the fans to the same hub (the one I got with the QL120 fans), with the fans in order (QL120 fans 1-3 and LL140 fans 4-5). Also, apparently only 1 of my USB 2.0 pin headers works (the one to the left), I don't know what to do about that... but the fans are now connected to iCUE, and I can customize them!

According to the manual, that's where it's supposed to be

Yes but as is clearly evident in the picture you attached you did not have it connected correctly.

Running the QL and LL fans separately -- one on each LED channel of the LN Pro is another way to do this and the way I would.  However, it requires you to have two RGB Lighting Hubs.  One came with the LL pack but you will need a second for the other set.
