marcosartori
I have been having problems with Quikpar giving checksum errors so I decided to run memtest, after about 10 minutes there where over 900 errors!. This seems to have happened all of a sudden, I have an Athlon XP 2600 333, my memory module is XMS3200C2 platinum. my motherboadr is an Abit KV7. I have been running the memory at 333 for over a year now and no problems, I bought faster memory so that in the future I could upgrade, so the memory has basically been underclocked. For testing I set the memory back to SPD (400) and still errors. I have no idea what all the errors in memtest mean. any help much appreciated. marcosartori
I should also be clear that I have no means of testing the ram on another machine as I only have one, and I only have one 512MB stick of ram. again any help much apreciated,
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted June 16, 2005 Corsair Employees Share Posted June 16, 2005 Please test the module/'s one at a time with http://www.memtest.org and I would set the Dim Voltage to 2.7 Volts as well. If you do find one failing then lets get it or them replaced. But the memory Frequency should be set to 1-1 or 100% so it's in sync with your CPU. Please follow the link in my signature “I think I have a bad part!” and we will be happy to replace them or it! However; if you get errors with both modules, that would suggest some other problem. And I would try testing the memory in another system to be sure.
