JasonF
Hi, I have built a new gaming pc and running 32GB of Dominator DDR4 RAM. Originally only 1 stick of the RAM was lighting up when installing Windows, but was recognised in the BIOS. I installed iCue and both sticks were recognised and showing as being lite, however, this was incorrect. I asked iCue to look for updates, didn't find anything, so I forced the update and that seemed to work. However, a few days later, same issue, booted the pc and only one stick has lights. I go back into iCue and do a force update again and it seems to fix it. But it keeps happening. Is there an issue with the RAM? Motherboard BIOS? I have an NZXT Z690, running an i9 12900k. Any help would be appreciated.
Corsair Employees Corsair Notepad Posted November 30, 2022 Corsair Employees Share Posted November 30, 2022 Have you tested the module that wasn't lighting up in all DIMM slots, including in the slot with the working module?
JasonF
Yes. I also have another pc running Corsair Vengeance RGB and the RAM does exactly the same in this machine. One lights up, the other doesn't. I put the Vengeance RAM in my new machine, both light up straight away.
Corsair Employees Corsair Notepad Posted November 30, 2022 Corsair Employees Share Posted November 30, 2022 So they both light up in a completely different system? If that is the case that would point to a motherboard issue.
JasonF
I put the Dominator RAM in a different machine and only one of the DIMMS light up. This different machine has Corsair Vengeance RGB - I put these in my new machine, and they light up first time no problem.
