PaulusP
I Just completed building a new desktop based on a Corsair 4000 D Airflow midi-tower. I installed 3 Corsair AF 120 LED Blue casefans at the front, but since the motherboard does not have sufficient casefan connections, I bought a Corsair fan hub (Corsair code: 8950020). To my surprise, the connectors of the fans do not fit in the the fan-hub! (the connector is too high ) All Corsair products, but they are not compatible ?? How strange is that ? What is the solution? Solution BlaiseP Posted November 28, 2022 Solution Share Posted November 28, 2022 @PaulusP - the hub you posted is for RGB connectivity, not to run the fan itself. It sounds like all you need is a basic fan hub (any of the Commander Pro family would be overkill). All you need is a powered fan hub that you can connect to a fan header on the motherboard and then plug the fans into like this one.
Corsair Employees Corsair Notepad Posted November 28, 2022 Corsair Employees Share Posted November 28, 2022 That is a 3-pin DC connector for the fan motor and is not intended to plug into the RGB Fan LED Hub. That connector plugs into any fan header on your motherboard, or a compatible fan controller.
PaulusP
Hi BlaiseP, thanks a lot for your clear answer ! Indeed, all I need is a powered fan hub (the picture in your link is helpful) . This topic is answered perfectly and I learned something today 😉
