K100 is not working

Recommended Posts

Hello,

Today, I updated icue’s software as well as the firmware for the k100 keyboard. Since the update the k100 is not working properly. The keyboard is acting like something is being pressed. However nothing is being pressed or being written inside of a notepad. However, if I open up Comand prompt and press and hold CTR, it’s acting like I’m pressing enter and generates a new line. I have restarted my PC, I have forced to update the new firmware, and the k100 continues to act like something is pressed. I use a controller for gaming, and if the keyboard is connected, since it’s acting like a key is pressed it disables the controller. I have unplugged the keyboard and used a backup, and with an older keyboard the issue does not happen. The source is the k100. This is a brand new keyboard only two weeks old, I love it, please help. I have tried to find old firmware for the k100, but can’t seem to find any for the k100, if I could, then I could pinpoint that it’s a firmware issues and not the physical keyboard.

Update:

After researching all day, I found that it’s the scroll lock key that’s “constantly” being pressed. I tried to disable on regedit, and it still happens. Then after looking at it closer, the scroll lock key is being pressed with the lighting automation. As the colors and effects change, the scroll lock key indicator blinks with it. I have turned off all lighting effects for the keyboard, and created a static color, this has somewhat stopped it from happening, but this appears to be software related, please help!

Still no word from Corsair support. Now the keyboard does it with just a static color. My old 10+ year old asus keyboard plugs in and works just fine. I’m returning the k100 and exchanging it for a new one. If the new board continue to replicate the issue, it’s 100% software related.

Encountering a similar issue. Updated iCUE to 4.30.162. It will randomly latch a key press and hold it until I unplug the keyboard from the motherboard USB port and disable the lighting effects. Yesterday it latched the N key. Just now it was the E key. This has never occurred prior to the iCUE update.

Start with the basic CUE repair. Windows Apps list -> Corsair iCUE. Select “modify” and follow the prompts for a repair install. This can help clean up weird peripheral output issues with KBs and mice and will not erase profiles or settings.

If that does not work, try reloading the current firmware. In cue settings check for update -> none -> force update. There have been a couple of these reported lately, but it’s isolated. It also appears not all K100s have the same MCU and there are different firmware versions for each.

Last option will be the ESC key reset. I would save this for last as it will erase all your stored HW profiles on the keyboard.

If none of that works, start a support ticket with Corsair and make sure you mention you’ve already done the above options.
