elric1976
Hello, I hope someone can help. Im having a problem remapping buttons on the Scimitar Pro RGB I have been trying for about an hour and a half now to remap mouse button 1 and 2. When I click them in the iCue software they are default at Profile switch and DPI Toggle respectively. I am trying to remap them to Forward button (Mouse button 1) and Back button (Mouse button 2) but when I select for instance mouse button 1 it selects Profile switch and when I try to remap it to forward, it wont assign that to the key. Am I doing something wrong here? Any help would be greatly appreciated. I use this mouse to play MMOs
c-attack
Generally if you start getting strange results from remapping, there may be an issue with the CUE install. Go to the Windows Apps list and find Corsair iCUE. Click on it and select "modify", then follow the prompts for a repair install. This will not erase profiles or settings but is a good first step when trying to clean up weird issues. If that does not work, you might need to show us screen shots of what is happening on your end. The Scimitar is one of the few mice I don't have, so I cannot test it out. Perhaps someone else can. Also, make sure you are working in "Key assignments" and not "Hardware Key Assignments". Hardware lighting/assignments are the mechanisms for saving things to the device's internal memory. Typically these are more restrictive options since they must be capable of being executed without software or system aid.
elric1976
So in the picture you can see that I have mouse button 1 selected and its default to Profile switch. When I click in the key section to change the button I selected the forward button option and when selecting mouse button one again it goes back to profile switch. I circled them not because I thought you wouldn't be able to see them but for my own benefit to explain it to you. Also I have repaired and restarted my computer and its still not working and I'm repairing again just in case. The crazy part about all this is it was working just fine earlier today when I was playing wow. I came back home after lunch and turned on my computer and everything was screwed up. To the point where I even tried to install a new SSD and that wont even show up either.
c-attack
I am not sure if I am misreading your intent. You want to assign the traditional “forward” mouse action to mouse number pad button 1? And backward to mouse number pad button 2? If so, you need to select number pad 1 and 2 in picture. If you mean Assignment Mouse 1 and Assignment Mouse 2 are properly set up but not working, we are back at the start. Since the repair install didn’t work you may have to clean install CUE. It doesn’t look like you have to worry about a lot of device reprogramming so that won’t be so bad. https://help.corsair.com/hc/en-us/articles/360025166712-Perform-a-clean-reinstallation-of-the-Corsair-Utility-Engine-iCUE-
elric1976
I am trying to set the button that is circled in the picture of the actual mouse to forward and the one behind it to back but the forward one keeps defaulting back to Profile switch as shown in the picture. c-attack
That button circled in the picture is the default "profile switch". It has been successfully remapped to: Profile Switch -> Forward mouse button and it should now perform the standard 'forward' function in a browser. Presumably the "DPI change" below it is properly remapped to DPI Change-> Backward mouse. So if those top two buttons are not doing Forward/Back in a browser, then something is wrong with the program. I have copied your intent on my M65 Elite and it works for my DPI Up and DPI down respectively. However, I don't have a Scimitar and a Scimitar does not have two natural forward/back side mouse buttons because it has the 1-12 keys instead. You mentioned this previously worked, but I wonder if there is a difference between Forward/Back in a browser and how a game like WoW interprets the synthetic mouse forward/back. elric1976
well Im not sure how it happened but it just started working after I selected forward and back for each button again. I'm very confused as to why it didn't work initially. Might have been because of the 5th restart on my computer? I don't know lol. Thank you very much for all the help. I just hope it doesn't happen again as I don't know what I did to fix it lol.
