lisametz
I've got two sticks of memory that are bad. I tested them on two different motherboards and ran the latest version of memtest and it crashed on both. How do I get these sticks warrantied and replaced? Jabberwok
Wait for the official Ramguy reply, It's a normal step you have to go through ;): .
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted June 15, 2005 Corsair Employees Share Posted June 15, 2005 I have no problem replacing your modules, but getting failurs with both modules would suggest some other problem. Can you tell me our modules part# (How To Read the Memory Label) and the make and model of MB you have along with the CPU speed and it’s FSB as well? In addition, please tell me the bios settings you have set for both CPU and memory and any performance settings that you may have set?

I'll have to get back to you on this, however it would be good to note that I have tested the sticks on a completely different MB and they still don't work, so I'm not sure that the info you requested is necessary. Let me know if you still want it.
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted June 22, 2005 Corsair Employees Share Posted June 22, 2005 As I said getting failures with both modules would indeed suggest some other problem, and with out know what MB and settings you used it would be too hard to guess. All of our XMS modules are tested in a MB at their rated speed before they leave our factory so again it would help to verify what you have said to know more information. Not to mention these modules have a minimum suggested voltage of 2.75 Volts so if you did not have the settings set properly they may have indeed failed. As well as they are set to aggressive timings some MB's may not be able to run these modules at their tested setting because of this.
lisametz
Here are the specs on the MB's: board #1 fsb 400mhz, cpu speed 2.8ghz P4 board #2 fsb 333mhz, cpu speed 1.8ghz (2800pr rating) Amd64 bios timings were set to auto (spd settings) on both board. Manual ram timings had no effect on either board. I also tested two known good sticks on both MB's and they worked fine. part numbers: CM64SD256-2400C2 CM64SD256-2400C2 Thanks! Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted June 29, 2005 Corsair Employees Share Posted June 29, 2005 And what is the make and model of both MB's and what did you have the Dim Voltage set to? Well any way if you just want to get them replaced. Please follow the link in my signature “I think I have a bad part!” and we will be happy to replace them or it! CandyKid
Just a thought, but have you tried underclocking either of the systems to a 300 FSB and the memory to 150MHz / DDR300? These modules might actually be too slow for your test systems. PLUR CK
lisametz
I've actually got another module (same exact kind) that did test fine on the system. It's just the two in question that won't work. Tried setting FSB to 200 that didn't change anything. board #1 msi 865pe neo2 board #2 aopen ak86-l Voltage was set to auto. Also tried setting it to 2.7 for testing and that didn't make any difference. Just a thought, but have you tried underclocking either of the systems to a 300 FSB and the memory to 150MHz / DDR300?
