iCUE changes setup color randomly

Hello,

Since last week, iCUE change my color setup to fix color purple for all my devices (RAM, fans and LED strips) randomly (sometimes a few minutes after I start the computer, sometimes hours after).

If I want to change back to my color setup, I have to restart iCUE as modifying the colors does not work anymore (see screenshot, the color requested is fix white, but the one applied is purple).

I tried some days ago to do a clean re-install of iCUE, but it did not work to solve the problem.

Do you have an idea of what could go wrong ?

Many thanks

That’s a bit bizarre. Go to CUE settings and turn on “debug logging”. Then start a support ticket with Corsair. The next time it goes purple, go back to settings and export the log. Attach it to the support ticket.

Try the standard “repair install”. Go to Windows Apps -> Corsair iCUE and select “modify”. Follow the prompts for a repair install. This will not delete profiles or settings. This often helps clean up weird issues, but I’m not sure what kind of problem this is. The cue restart suggests it’s software, but could be a controller fault as well.

Make sure the brightness for the static white effect is actually turned up. If it is off that effect you have layered underneath is going to show rather than the static white effect. You can also try to delete that watercolor effect you have layered underneath to see if that helps.

@ C-attack : that gave me an idea. After starting my computer, I lunched one by one all my daily use softwares in order to find if one of them was at fault. And finally the culprit was Opera GX ! In fact, I use 2 web browsers : Firefox as my main and Opera GX for some work, and since the last update, Opera GX activated the light effect that takes over iCUE.

I desabled it, it works !

Again, many thanks for your help

Another user mentioned this last week and it was new information to me.  I don't use Opera so I had not seen this before.
