fmbispo
Hello, I bought a mem pack CMK32GX4M4D3600C16, which is not in Board manufacture vender QVL list (Asus TUF GAMING B550-PLUS WIFI II) and not on AMD CPU QVL and mine is 5800X, I saw some people saying that was working out of the box with a X570 board and 5900X CPU, but I also saw someone complaining that it didn't work with their B450, board, my pc is going to be assembled at a shop since I screwed last mobo, but it will take a week and that can mess up return period if it doesn't post. Should I just return it or does someone has a similar rig and could advise me? Much appreciated for help
c-attack
It’s probably going to work and most boards should be able to run 3600. However, it is a 4 module kit and some boards get finicky. I can’t give you a definitive yes or no and you are likely running out of time. You need to be aware when don’t go with something on the QVL list it may be held against you later. If you had a genuine motherboard or cpu issue later, the RAM not being on the QVL has been used offensively to attempt to deny warranty claims whether there is a possible connection or not. So my recommendation is unless you got an absolute steal or the total cost is low enough you could absorb it without too much grief, get something on the QVL. Much appreciated for help @fmbispo @Just starting my build with the same MOBO (Asus TUF GAMING B550-PLUS WIFI II) and RAM ( CMK32GX4M4D3600C16) but will be using a Ryzen 9 5900x How did things work out for your build? Seems like this is a bit of an oddball kit and not much info out there on this one specifically. Opted for this kit vs 2x16gb since Corsair 16gb LPX kits are not dual rank to my knowledge.
