Switch0r
Is this PSU good enough for my new system and does it have all the cables for connecting to the GPU? Trackah123
Hi, i'm new here but i have a little question regarding this, does the build year of the rm850x matter? i still have a rather old PSU version of rm850x (i believe around 2015, the box says 2010-2016), but i seen there are newer models ranging from 2018, 2021 etc.
Switch0r
My RM850x just arrived today but it does not have 3 PCIe 8 pins cables included. Only 2 PCIe cables are in the box. So i can not use this PSU for my RTX4080 to connect to the 12vhp adapter? Do i need to send it back and buy another brand? Please help me.
Switch0r
Will this cable give me enough power to the 4080 (max320watt) with a RM850X PSU? Because Nvidia says you need 3 seperated cables conected to the nvidia adapter. https://www.corsair.com/eu/en/Categories/Products/Accessories-|-Parts/PC-Components/Power-Supplies/600W-PCIe-5-0-12VHPWR-Type-4-PSU-Power-Cable/p/CP-8920284#tab-faqs
LeDoyen
you need 3 PCIE connectors to use THEIR adapter.. the PCIE connector (the one on the GPU side) is rated to 150W maximum. the corsair cable does not use those connectors so it can draw up to 600W from two cables. The corsair 12VHPWR cable will work just fine since you'll use it at half its rating.

I think I have seen your posts where you answer this question differently, so I wanted to double check. Should I purchase a new cable to use GIGABYTE adapter, use the adapter by daisy chaining one of the cables, or should I skip the adapter and plug only single PCIe connector directly to the GPU?
