VS1GBKIT400 stick fails Memtest86

Greetings, I have been running for two months with VS1GBkit400 at 400mh. The sticks ran Memtest86 clean when I first installed the memory. Last weekend my PC would not boot. Memtest86 execution found one stick now has errors. The bad stick also fails when using Windows Memory Diagnostic. I purchased the memory online at Chiefvalue.com. Their 30 day limit on replacements is past. Is RMA next?

Please test the modules one at a time with http://www.memtest.org and I would set the Dim Voltage to 2.7 Volts as well. If you do find one failing then lets get it or them replaced. Please follow the link in my signature “I think I have a bad part!” and we will be happy to replace them or it!

Raised the voltage to 2.7 and tested with Memtest 86+ V1.55. Errors appear in less than a minute. I am running the memory by SPD at 200mh fsb. Nothing is overclocked.

The module ran fine for two months. No changes were made to my PC. Oh yea...... the way I discovered the memory was bad was the demise of my OS. The PC would not boot. I could not even enter Safe Mode. I would get a screen of driver load messages followed by the PC entering a never ending wait state. I removed the bad stick of ram but got the same wait state when trying to enter Safe Mode. I took the hard drive out and stuck it in a moth balled PC I had in the closet (an Athlon 800mh). PC would not boot. The Hard drive was logically damaged. Oh well, I switched the bad hard drive to the secondary IDE channel, booted the PC and renamed the D drive folders "Documents and Settings" and WINNT with a _OLD suffix. Reinstalled the HD back in my primary PC and reinstalled Windows. Been running fine ever since (the bad stick of Ram is stashed in a drawer).
