WhitePhantom
My computer recently began showing signs of instability that seemed to be due to failing memory. It had two CMX512-3200C2PT modules installed (purchased from NewEgg.com 12/7/2003). I removed one module and the instability continued; I also used a memory testing utility, in which the module failed every pass. I then removed the module and replaced it with the other one. The instability vanished and the module passed every memory test. During testing of the failing module I even tried slowing the memory settings to way below specs, but it didn't help any. I would like to request an RMA#. Thank you, Nolan
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted June 14, 2005 Corsair Employees Share Posted June 14, 2005 Please test the modules one at a time with http://www.memtest.org and I would set the Dim Voltage to 2.7 Volts as well. If you do find one failing then lets get it or them replaced. Please follow the link in my signature “I think I have a bad part!” and we will be happy to replace them or it! However; if you get errors with both modules, that would suggest some other problem. And I would try testing the memory in another system to be sure. WhitePhantom
I finally got around to doing all that you suggested in your post. I came up with one bad module and one good module. I will now submit a request for an RMA number regarding the bad module. Thanks!
