Noisy LL120 fan

Recommended Posts

I have a LL120 fan that when my computer has been off for some time and then turning it on, and at the moment it reaches about 1,000 rpm, it makes a bit of a "grinding" noise for a bit then finally settles. I've unmounted it, and made sure it wasn't hitting any wires when spinning, brushed any dirt out and then mounted it back on, but to no avail. Any recommendations that I can try?

It's not very old, so I would figure it wouldn't needed to be replaced just yet.

Hey there, go ahead and contact our support team by opening a ticket at https://help.corsair.com/hc/en-us/requests/new so our support team can look into this further for you.

Have yet to get any help from the team. I recorded a sample of the noise I'm talking about that may help in anyway.

sounds like a little lathe 😛

Likely to be a dry or busted bearing. I bet it will end in a warranty exchange.

Hey there! Do you have a ticket number for this? Support reply time can be roughly 2-3 days from time of submission of the ticket.

Might also be worth pressing the fan firmly in the center to see if that helps!

Ticket number# 2005654734
