azerty_td
When I am trying to install windows on this system i get the known IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL BSOD. I know this is due to some memory configurations because when I play aroud a little with them, I get a little further in the installation. There were about the same probs with another system, but this was with C2PT memory, for that system I found the solution on this forum elsewhere. Now I am trying to find out what configuration suits this memory, but I can't seem to get it right. Please help me out here.
ferry_g
Please test the module one at a time using memtest, btw what is cpu core & bios you're currrently use? You've to use native 24 pin (ATX 2.0) psu, min. 480w for this mb to ensure stability. If you're using Venice core, better look for 510 beta bios. CandyKid
Welcome to the forums, azerty_td! These modules require a little more juice and I'd reccommend setting your DDR Voltage to at least 2.75 volts. They're warrantied to 2.9 volts, but FYI, my system required 2.8 to be stable. Also, set these timings: CAS - 2 RAS TO CAS DELAY - 2 Row Precharge - 2 Cycle Time - 5 And yes, please test the modules (together and both separately) with Memtest86+. azerty_td
Already ran memtest, no probs. Memory seems stable but while installing windows i get that BSOD I mentioned earlier. The memory subsystem is allright it seems. aybe it is in the connection between memory and mem controller integrated in the Athlon 64?? I hope someone can give me a complete memory config for the bios of this motherboard and memory combo. Thank you all so far. :):

ferry_g
Hi, Did u try using bios beta 510 instead of 310/316. Is your psu ATX 2.0 compliant, and you already connect floppy & 4 pin molex connector to your mb?
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted June 14, 2005 Corsair Employees Share Posted June 14, 2005 There is a new beta Bios available on the DFI user forum that may address this, but please test the modules one at a time with http://www.memtest.org and I would set the Dim Voltage to 2.8 Volts as well. If you do find one failing then lets get it or them replaced. Please follow the link in my signature “I think I have a bad part!” and we will be happy to replace them or it! However; if you get errors with both modules, that would suggest some other problem. And I would try testing the memory in another system to be sure. Already tested the modules on this board via the onboard memtest and with a floppy. Also tested on antoher board, no problems what so ever. :sigh!: Thanks :)
ferry_g
Hi, Would you try bios version 510-3? Did you try to put other's vga in your system? I also caught bsod when using bios 310 & venice. Try to run your system without additional sound card. But usually, I put creative sb in the latest pci slot. Set Max Asyn Latency = 7ns , Read Preamble = 5.5ns
