Scimitar Pro Mouse Key Programming Question

I'm struggling to figure out how to program one of the side keys of the mouse. I'd like to accomplish the following:

   (1) When I press and hold say "G1", I want the mouse to press and hold one of the modifier keys, e.g. "Shift" for as long as I'm holding "G1".

   (2) When I release "G1", I'd like two things to happen: the mouse to release "Shift" in 100 milliseconds and to also press another key, eg "Y".

Is this possible to do?

Any and all help will be highly appreciated!

Yes, it is possible to do this. Depending on the type of mouse you have, you will need to use different software to configure your mouse. If you have a Logitech mouse, you can use the Logitech Options software to configure your mouse. You should be able to configure a macro to do exactly what you have asked, by setting up a keypress macro with the "Shift" key pressed and held, followed by a key press of "Y" after a 100-millisecond delay. If you have a different type of mouse, you may need to use different software to configure your mouse's buttons.
