Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted June 13, 2005 Corsair Employees Share Posted June 13, 2005 Can you tell me the make and model of MB you have along with the CPU speed and it’s FSB as well? In addition, please tell me the bios settings you have set for both CPU and memory and any performance settings that you may have set?
Cookie
Asus p4p800, p4 3.0ghz prescott cpu, cache is 1mb, fsb is 800....bios is set to default settings i believe and i have no performance settings set and i believe that the mobo is supported. i tested each stick in the same slot with memtest. the one i believe to be bad threw up lots of errors and then crashed the system.after the system rebooted i then tested the stick again and it threw up a ton of errors. i then took that stick out and put the other stick in the same slot and tested it to about 2000% and got no errors.also while i had both sticks in and was downloading files i was getting errors and corrupt files when trying to open the files after download:( after taking the one i believe to be bad out i downloaded a file that came up corrupt in two previous attempts while the other ram was in and it worked. i am pretty sure the ram is bad.
