ShuMai
I've got a Toshiba Satellite P30 and recently purchased a stick of VS512SDS333. After installing the new memory I began to get crashes in games and random system reboots. I have the latest BIOS and have ran memtest on both the original ram that came with the laptop and the new VS512SDS333. I received no errors on the original memory but the VS512SDS333 was up to over 1400 errors before the first pass even completed. To me this seems like I've got a bad stick and need to get it replaced, but I just wanted to see if you had any other suggestions as to what I should do, or if I should just go ahead and get it replaced. Thanks in advance
SpDFrek
If you have run both the memory modules one at a time and you recieve errors only with the VS module you will need to RMA it. Memtest genearlly will tell you what latencies you are running while it is testing, are both modules running at the same CAS latencies during Memtest? With 1400 errors in the first pass it probably doesnt matter as it is most likely a bad module.
