ECS N2U400-A with CMX256A-3200C2 @ 2700

Hi there,

I have a mainboard ECS Elitegroup N2U400-A Dual Channel with AMD Athlon XP 3200+(Barton). I bought it as bundle with two RAMs 256 MB Kreton VT 400MHz DDR PC3200 DIMM Dual Channel 5,0 ns 2,5/4/4/8. I replaced them by two Corsair CMX256A-3200C2. CPU-Z, Everest and SiSoft Sandra report the corsairs being recognized correctly from type number but working only as PC 2700 @ 166 MHz(2/2/2/6) instead PC 3200 @ 200 MHz. The performance is worse than before with the VT-RAMs. Who has an idea?

Are you trying to mix these modules? If so please try just our modules and test them one at a time with http://www.memtest.org and I would set the Dim Voltage to 2.7 Volts if you have that option.

Thanx 4 quick answer. What do you mean with "mix"? I´m german and my english isn´t at the highest level:-). It´s a dual-channel-board and I have one of them on each channel. Tomorrow I´ll try this memtest and have a look at the RAM-options of my BIOS and report the results - it´s near midnight here and I need some sleep.

Are you trying to run both the modules that came with your system and our XMS modules on this same system? If so then that is probably the issue, as you cannot mix memory with most systems today.
