Bought a new power supply Hx1200i that came with Icue and i like the software. Well I have two more devices that now have Icue a Core xt and a  lighting node core. So three devices and only two usb 2.0 on the motherboard. If i plugged the hx1200i into the usb passthru on the core xt will the icue on the hx1200i work ok. Can't really test this now as my pc is in pieces. Rabit hole of a custom water cooling loop..The usb 2.0 on the motherboard will have limited access when the build is complete.(hidden behind graphics card)  Thanks for any info I can get.

Save yourself some time and possible future headaches, get a NZXT Internal Hub Gen 3 or Gen 2 if you don't mind powering it by a MOLEX cable.

A lot of users need a powered USB 2 hub as described above.  You can't always successfully chain devices on those USB passthroughs, but I think a HX1200i won't be a problem.  PSUs typically are less difficult than another Commander Core/XT or  LCD top.  I think your current plan is viable with the XT and LNCore on the motherboard directly and the PSU on the XT passthrough.  However, motherboard make and model has the final say on this.  Some boards are pickier than others.  Some boards have compromises on USB 2 to service newer USB C, 3.2, or PCI-E throughput.

Thanks for the info...Its odd that all 3 usb connectors are different on the 3 devices. But I thnk I will try the powersupply plugged into the xt core pass thru. If it does not work a quick and easy fix will be to plug directly into the usb on the back of the case. Hopefully I will not have a need to access my usb 2 .0 ports on the motherboard as this will require lots of dexterity or emptying water cooled loop. Guess I will find out in a few days. Waiting on parts. It would be nice if Corsair manufactured these devices to play nice together with a common usb connection.
