ftk
recently purchased this module - 1gb pc3200 valueram. I just got around to installing and testing it, and am getting errors in memtest on only 1 address with a fail count in the dozens (and it goes up on just about every individual test) : fail addr - 22ae4b70 - 554.2mb good - 22ae4b70 bad - 22ae4b60 error bits - 00000010 system is an nforce2, tested with this stick only, memory settings at SPD of 8-3-3-3 and 200mhz. I tried switching ram slots, relaxing the timings and increasing voltage but none of these had any effect. This machine has been running 2 different pairs of 512mbx2 in dual channel mode flawlessly for years. Seems like a bad stick to me?
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted June 9, 2005 Corsair Employees Share Posted June 9, 2005 Please test the modules one at a time with http://www.memtest.org and I would set the Dim Voltage to 2.7 Volts as well. If you do find one failing then lets get it or them replaced. Please follow the link in my signature “I think I have a bad part!” and we will be happy to replace them or it! However; if you get errors with both modules, that would suggest some other problem. And I would try testing the memory in another system to be sure. The module in question is a single 1gb stick - not dual channel. The 512x2 mentioned was from my previous configuration. I have tested this stick with up to 2.7v with the same errors. I guess I should rma this stick then?
