iCue 4.25.155 Commander Pro dashboard widget missing fan speeds

Recommended Posts

Hi, not sure if this has been mentioned before, but I've just managed to get my Asus Mboard and RTX back to being in sync with iCue and while setting up my dashboard I realised the widget for the Commander Pro isn't displaying fan speeds any more, just voltages. I looked in settings but I can only see option to display voltages. My Corsair 1000D's built-in commander is showing fan speeds fine but I only have 4 fans running from that whereas the additional commander pro runs six fans. Everything appears to be ok, just not displaying the fan speed graphs.

Delete the Commander Pro from the dashboard, then add it back from the drop down menu. That should restore all data from that Commander Pro.

Hi @c-attack,

Tried deleting the widget from the dashboard and re-adding, still the same unfortunately. Also looked into removing the commander pro from iCue and letting it rediscover, but I couldn't find a way to do it through software, maybe have to pull the power from the Commander Pro (bigish job as I have to manoeuvre the case away from the desk to access the right side). However  it looks like more than the dashboard widget, if I go into the 1000D commander > cooling I still get the full options for fan speed settings but if I go into the commander pro > cooling all I see are voltages, no cooling options / fancurve etc. Lighting channels are all working fine, and if I check for updates iCue says its on the latest version..  but all cooling is missing 😞

The two times this generally comes up are a result of 1) conflict with another monitoring program like HWiNFO or AIDA. You may get impossible fan speeds or the widgets in the UI disappear. Flip-flopped 3.3/5/12v readings are common too. I am not sure why it would affect one Commander and not the other and so…

2) Hardware problem on the Commander Pro. One of mine blew on boot a few weeks back. First temp registers went, then loss of fan control before they no longer displayed in the UI, and I was left with some garbage voltage readings. Go to the Windows Event Viewer -> System events and see if the OS is registering errors for the device. However, in this circumstance the device would no longer work as fan controller and you’d have fans racing or maxed out, which you would likely notice.

So if neither of these apply, we’re still looking for a strange UI glitch. You can temporarily drop the C-Pro from CUE by removing the usb connector from the MB, although you likely are using a powered hub. Rather than dive into the back, if you need a device power reset, shutdown, flip the PSU off, then pull the plug for 30 seconds before reconnecting. That should be long enough to cause force everything to recheck on the next boot, although this is not a common fix for the Commander Pro.

Basic CUE repair. Go to Windows Apps -> Corsair iCUE and click. Select “modify” and follow the prompts for a repair install. This does not erase profiles or settings and takes about 2 minutes. This often cleans up weird issues and as an easy no-risk troubleshooting step it’s probably the first thing you should do unless the fans/device is clearly out of a control.

@c-attack Thanks for the reply, I did wonder if the Commander pro was goosed, but I thought firstly I would do a totally clean install of iCue and see where that got me, so following the instructions for stripping it all out of various folders and the registry I re-installed.. and it's now working on the latest version, complete with fan speed controls, correct voltages etc. Only problem now is it was a pre-built PC all based around Corsair products and I'm not exactly sure how they setup lighting channels and what fans connect to what controller.. and they're all QL fans so I think have front and rear leds.. confusing! I'm getting there but still have some figuring out to do, but the good news is at least everything now appears to function as intended! Thanks for your help dude!
