Problem: my fans will dip to almost off and then ramp up to around 1000 rpm and stay there during sleep mode or off via start-shutdown only way to get them to stop is psu switch, wait for it to drain and back on again. They will then stay off until the next power cycle

My system was running as it should until yesterday when i installed a new AIO a masterliquid ml240 illusion

old setup i only had 2  ml140's and the 2 aio fans connected to the commander pro and it was working perfectly.

new setup : 1-2 port is going to the new AIO 3-4 goes to ml140's and 5 is going to a 120 at the rear

the pump is connected to the mb and the fans connected to the commander pro

I've tried troubleshooting by disconnecting and connecting just one fan but the problem does not go away

The only thing i haven't tried is to disconnect the rgb hub from the new aio that goes to an internal usb header on the mb. could that be the culprit ?

Well as it turns out it is the rgb hub to the new aio that is the culprit somehow. i disconnected the usb part of it and the problem is gone! As a bonus the rgb hub stores it's settings internally so i still have the rgb as i want it regardless of the usb..
