active_milk5
I want to add RAM to my PC, i have 16gb DDR4 RAM in it already (from a different brand), but i want to add my corsair 32gb RAM to it, so i have 48gb RAM in total, but is my motherboard able to use this, as my motherboard wants Un-buffered and Non-ECC RAM, will my corsair RAM be accepted by my motherboard? c-attack
There is no way to know for sure, but if you are using a different brand, with a different density, likely a different IC, then you have lined up a lot of factors against you. You certainly will not be able to plug and play and they will require some hand timing. If you are not accustomed to manually tunning your RAM, this would be a difficult place to start. Do you need 48GB? Most people do not. Does the Corsair 32GB kit have better timings, higher frequency? Using it alone is the easiest upgrade.
