ferry_g
Ram Guy, Using TwinX1024-3200XLPT v1.2 is very painful. In other past thread, I'm asking you about it's compability with DFI and ASUS SLI boards. Now I bought DFI nF4 DAGF. It's true that XLPT has "superb" oc capabiliy (see attachments below). But why, even if I already set the vDIMM to 2.8v, 3DMark05 often fail after Game Test 1 (at stock speed), like the problem in asus & dfi board in the past thread. But using other brand, 2 x single sided 512 mb value ram/Corsair VS, it's 100% succeded 3DMark05. No memtest error in XLPT. Hoping the soonest reply & thanks. Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted June 7, 2005 Corsair Employees Share Posted June 7, 2005 Ferry I think you are comparing Apples to Oranges. Running the memory at Cass 2-2-2-5 at DDR400 would be close to running them at Cass 3-3-3-8 at DDR480 and the memory controller in the CPU seems to be hit and Miss sometimes with running aggressive timings. I would make sure that you have the latest bios and then load setup defaults and set the Dim Voltage to 2.8 Volts and you might try the system with out the sound card and see if that helps as well. ferry_g
Ram Guy, Do you mean, in other words I better using CMX CAS2.5 instead of CAS 2 when using Athlon64 platform? I don't have problem using XLPT in Intel platform. Then would lend other cmx cas 2.5 from my retailer tomorrow...but I really need cmx line that have superb oc capabilty like this one :D: Ram Guy, what is the latest version of TwinX1025-4400C25 & TwinX1024-3200XLPT? Hoping the soonest reply & thanks.
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted June 7, 2005 Corsair Employees Share Posted June 7, 2005 The Ver is still 1.2 and has been almost since day one for both modules. But yes with some CPU's and or chipsets they just dont seem to run aggressive timings and relaxing them slightly will more often than not solve any problems. ferry_g
Ram Guy, The lend me 2x of these modules below: CMX512-3200 CL2.5 XMS3200v6.1 #0516011-0 May I know what IC's are in that modules? Cause I still want to oc with high FSB like XLPT (FSB 266x9):D: 100% error free after 3 pass of memtest86+ v1.55 Help me, cause I've to make decision tomorrow. The most important things is that modules have no trouble running 3DMark05. Tested on Asus A8N SLI Deluxe & DFI nF4 DAGF. Hoping the soonest reply & thanks in advanced. :sunglasse
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted June 8, 2005 Corsair Employees Share Posted June 8, 2005 This module is based on un-branded Winbond -5 Rev B IC's. I would go with Our XMS3200XL modules for best performance.
ferry_g
This module is based on un-branded Winbond -5 Rev B IC's. I would go with Our XMS3200XL modules for best performance. Ram Guy, Is un-branded = UTT? It's very strange that those modules won't work at CAS3, and it's very funny that those modules can't reach FSB 250 with CAS2.5. Do you have XMS 3200C3Pro (with LED) ? What IC inside that modules? (I hope this would be TCCx) I'm still thinking whether I should go with this new modules/not  Hoping the soonest reply. Thanks... :D:
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted June 8, 2005 Corsair Employees Share Posted June 8, 2005 The only module using Samsung TCCD would be XMS3200XL and XMS4400C25. However, from time to time we may use down binned TCCX IC's to make slower modules like XMS3200C2, but we do not use them as a rule only if the IC's normally used to make that specific part are in short supply. ferry_g
Ram Guy, They also offering me CMX512-3200PRO CL3 XMS3200v4.1 #0413010-3 CMX512-3200PRO CL3 XMS3200v1.2 #0449006-14 What IC inside the modules above? I'm still confused. Hoping the soonest reply. Thanks in advanced. Regards, Ferry.
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted June 10, 2005 Corsair Employees Share Posted June 10, 2005 CMX512-3200PRO CL3 XMS3200v4.1 #0413010-3 = Samsung TCCC -5 CMX512-3200PRO CL3 XMS3200v1.2 #0449006-14 = Samsung TCCC -

And what is the latest version of CMX512-3200PRO CL3 you have? Thanks. :D:
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted June 10, 2005 Corsair Employees Share Posted June 10, 2005 It does not work that way. The revisions are based on a Bill of materials and both of these BOM's are still active so we may depending on the parts available build either BOM or version. But Version V4.1 came after. ferry_g
Ram Guy, Thanks for the info. I hope Corsair still unlock the oc potencial of Samsung TCCC. I have modules which use Samsung TCCC -5 that very easily reach FSB 267 x 9/2.6v-CL 3 (similar with XLPT). Those modules only available in 2 x 256 mb....so I prefer Corsair that using TCCC -5 & 512 mb capacity. Thanks.. :D:
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted June 10, 2005 Corsair Employees Share Posted June 10, 2005 Yes we use that IC to make XMS4000 modules so they will usually run at Cass 3-4-4-8 at 230-250 MHz. However, we would have only tested these at the rated spec. Cass 3-3-3-8 at DDR400.
ferry_g
Ram Guy, I decided not to go with those Corsair BH-5 & CMX512-3200PRO CL3 XMS3200v4.1 #0413010-3 = Samsung TCCC -5, CMX512-3200PRO CL3 XMS3200v1.2 #0449006-14 = Samsung TCCC -5. You're right, those version didn't match at all of oc performance of XLPTv1.2 #0510058-2! I better ugrade the TwinX1024-3200XLPTv1.2 to TwinX1024-3200XLPROv1.2. Today I already received TwinX1024-3200XLPROv1.2 #0511012-1. I want to know which is better...TwinX1024-3200XLPTv1.2 #0510058-2 or TwinX1024-3200XLPROv1.2 #0511012-1? Off course I must pay for this upgrade, however it doesn't matter to me as long there's no performance cut. Hoping the soonest reply & thanks in advanced. ferry_g
The main reason I still stick with XL series is in fact that those module aren't voltage hungry: 2.8v is enough to lift 'em up to PC 4300 (See attachment). After succeded with benchmarks, I currently memtesting XLPRO.
ferry_g
Ram Guy, The XLPROv1.2 was succeded running at PC4300 CL 2.5-4-4-8-1T-2.8v and memtest86+ v1.55 error free (14 pass). However when trying Xperts series XMS 3208v1.1...I really disappointed cause it couldn't reach my target. What is the latest revision for XL Xpert series? Thanks. ferry_g
Bump Sorry for bumping you Ram Guy. What is the latest rev. of Xpert series? This will be my last question :D:
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted June 14, 2005 Corsair Employees Share Posted June 14, 2005 Ferry_G There is no latest revision, like I think I told you, the revisions are based on a BOM and depending on the IC's available will determine the Rev of the module. However, as far as I know the revision has not chnaged on this part# and we are still producing with the same BOM that they were developed on so Rev 1.X.
