Now the problem I am having is that my processor is running fine 2.2ghz, but the memory is only running at 200mhz. I have tried various Bios settings and still no joy. I have tried slots 1-3 and 2-3 and 1-2, but nothing helped.

At a loose end now, any help would be gratfully appreciated

Actually, 200mhz is correct. DDR RAM means Dual Data Rate which means that it transfers data 2 times per cycle as opposed to the older Single Data Rate RAM, or SDR, which only transfers 1 time per cycle. So, you get an effective data rate of DDR400.
