ativorsak
i have 2 x 256 modules of corsair platinum twinx xms 3700 on a gigabyte 8knxp revision 1 and it has started causing my pc to freeze. in the past it occasionally worked fine through switching memory slots and unplugging the power supply from the motherboard. doing this would allow it to work for a period of time where it would freeze again, and i would have to repeat the procedure of finding memory slots it would run in. however, now the pc will lock up in an short period of time after being started, less than an hour usually. my timings are set correctly at 3-4-4-8 for the memory, so that should not be an issue. also, i have tried the memory on a shuttle an35 ultra, yielding the same results of the computer constantly crashing. and when i replace the ram on both computers with other compatible ram, they both work fine. i have no clue what else to try to get the corsair memory to work, and frankly, im getting a bit frustrated with constantly switching the ram into different slots. also, ive tried just the individual modules on their own yielding the same results of crashes in both computers my corsair xms is xms 3700 v 1.1 number 0327007 on both
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted June 7, 2005 Corsair Employees Share Posted June 7, 2005 Please test the modules one at a time with http://www.memtest.org and I would set the Dim Voltage to 2.7 Volts at DDR400 @ Cass 3-3-3-8. If you do find one failing then lets get it or them replaced. Please follow the link in my signature “I think I have a bad part!” and we will be happy to replace them or it! However; if you get errors with both modules, that would suggest some other problem. And I would try testing the memory in another system to be sure.
