Corsair K55 RGB Mute button no longer works.

So I recently built a PC and switched over from a laptop, and I am having some trouble with my K55. Whenever I press the mute media key on the top right of the board, the little 'X' goes over where the volume is on the visual volume slider located at the top right of my screen, but nothing changes, the audio still plays as normal. This is only the mute button, the volume buttons work perfectly and so do the other media keys. No matter what playback device I set as my default or which USB port I plug the keyboard into, nothing will help. This is really frustrating because I use this key all the time and having to manually bring my volume down is so annoying. If anyone knows how to fix this please let me know.
