VapeArt
Hello to everyone! Recently, the RGB lights of my H100i Elite Capellix, SP Fans, Glaive RGB Pro and K55 have been lagging/stunning after starting the iCUE software. But when I turn off the software (with Hardware Lightning running), the lag disappears and the animations run smoothly. I tried disassembling and reassembling all parts and cables, then I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the iCUE software several times, but it didn't fix my problem. Lag/stun occurs similar to the video below. This problem is always present, not just under load. YouTube Video

LeDoyen
Are you on Ryzen? AMD has some USB lag/intermittent connexion issues that they are adressing with a new Agesa revision that is just being released. If that's the case, check your mobo's support page if there's a bios update Edited May 12, 2022 by LeDoyen

Corsair Employees Corsair Notepad Posted May 12, 2022 Corsair Employees Share Posted May 12, 2022 If you are on Ryzen a few things can be the cause and all related to issues with the Ryzen platform and not related to our products or iCUE itself. First is the random USB disconnect issue on Ryzen platforms that support PCIE 4.0, and the other is the newer fTPM bug that @LeDoyen pointed out. Both require BIOS updates to resolve, though the fTPM BIOS update is just now being rolled out. We would recommend that you update your motherboard BIOS to the latest version available from your motherboard manufacturer's website for your board, and to also make sure you have downloaded and installed the latest chipset driver directly from AMD's website.

Hello; All my drivers, including the BIOS, are up to date, we've been talking to TYLER from Corsair support for almost 2 months, but we still haven't been able to resolve the issue. I'm waiting for your help.
Billy G.
@VapeArt don't know if this will help...but worth a shot... Experienced similar issue after updating to latest version of iCUE. RGB animations (i.e. Sprial Rainbow) on QL120 fans would not run smoothly. Animations would 'stutter' or be 'choppy'...this stuttering/choppiness was subtle...but if you watched the animation, you could clearly notice it was not 'butter' smooth like it was before the update. After loading the new iCUE software for the first time, firmware update for the h150i Elite Capellix appeared in iCUE and updated successfully. The RGB for the affected fans runs off the Commander CORE controller that comes with the h150i Elite Capellix. Attempted reverting to the older software revision, but this did not resolve the issue. I decided to focus in on the firmware. Problem...even if you have the .bin file...the older firmware will not overwrite the newer version of the firmware for the h150i Elite Capellix (firmware resides on the Commander CORE). Decided to attempt to 'reset' the Commander CORE for the h150i Elite Capellix using the same process that is used to reset the Commander PRO controller. This worked!! Was able to successfully load older version of firmware after the reset of the Commander CORE. After loading the older firmware, the RGB animations were smooth again. Opened a ticket with Corsair for this issue and informed them that this was happening, and how I was able to resolve it. Also, obtained the .bin files for the older version of firmware for the h150i Elite Capellix (Commander CORE) and the Dominator Platinum memory I run directly from Corsair while the ticket was open. If you plan to do this, it helps to have an extra set of hands to help you. This is because you have to hold the reset button down with a paperclip....while you are holding it down, you have to unplug the SATA power cable for the Commander CORE...then...plug it back in (while still holding the reset button down)...then...continue to hold the reset button down for 20-30 seconds after plugging the SATA power cable back in. Of course...this has to be done while the system is powered ON. It's kinda freaky and it REALLY helps to have an extra set of hands to unplug that SATA power cable...and plug it back in....while holding the reset button. There is no LED indicator light on the Commander CORE like there is on the Commander PRO...so you just have to count to 20-30 seconds while holding the reset button (I admit...I counted to 60...just to be sure). Be careful...remember...system is powered on during all of this...so no time to be clumsy...but it did work. After loading the older firmware back onto the h150i Elite Capellix...the RGB animations are 'butter' smooth again. I left the older revision of the iCUE software installed...so I do not know if loading the new software version WITHOUT updating the firmware will work. I may try this when I'm feeling a bit more adventurous...for now...I'm just enjoying having smooth animations again. Corsair is aware of this issue...I told them about it...opened ticket...and got older firmware for the h150i Elite Capellix and Dominator Platinum memory I have directly from Corsair support. Corsair support was great to work with. We love Corsair products. Excellent build quality and good support....and not...I'm not paid in any way to say that. Based upon my experience...it's just the truth. I had to swap out a 2 1/2 year old CPU cooler due to just one RGB LED failing on the pump...and they did it...so they stand by their products. Also...they're usually easy to get a hold of and work with. Finally....and this is directed at Corsair and the iCUE development team. Firstly, I LOVE this product...it is hands down the BEST RGB software on the market today. PLEASE.....PLEASE don't screw up this software....whatever is going on right now....call an All Hands meeting...and dial it back a notch....make a QC sweep on this software and find this problem...then FIX it. You got a really good thing going....don't mess it up. I hope this helps. Good luck!!
Billy G.
wanted to add one more thing...I read through all the posts in this thread and Corsair seems to think it is related to USB... I'm not saying it isn't....the Corsair support rep. I spoke with about this issue also started to go down this path. The reason is because the newer version of the software generates A LOT more traffic on the USB bus (not sure why....but if it has to do anything with data farming or advertisements...STOP IT!!)... anyway...remember...I had already resolved the issue by resetting the Commander CORE and reverting to the older firmware revision on that device....so I KNEW it wasn't the USB config. I think Corsair is using Ryzen USB issues as a scapegoat...or...they are just hyper-focused on that as the potential cause....and, as a result, they are charging down the wrong 'rabbit-hole'.... The firmware is the issue...it's something in the FIRMWARE Corsair....please find it....and if the additional USB traffic is something nefarious for profits....stop that...this can't possibly be good for system performance... Currently, the lights of my H100i elite capellix and corsair 4000x fans are not working. ICUE did not identify automatically. My vault is pitch black and there is no light. Only the fans are running. What should I do now? 😄
Billy G.
Okay....this is a little different from what I experienced. However, I already had the .bin file with a valid firmware for my device before I reset it. The first thing I did after resetting the device was to load this firmware (which is why I think the "CRP DISABLED" drive is opening for you now) back onto my CPU Cooler. Another post on the forum (for a keyboard issue) confirms this as the correct next step: I know this may seem like the proverbial 'run around'...but...you must contact corsair support...obtain the valid .bin file for that device and load it. I do not know if the "firmware.bin" file located in the "CRP DISABLED" folder will work or not. Therefore, just to be on the safe side, please reach out to Corsair support and obtain the .bin file for your device. According to the post I linked above, you simply replace that firmware file (the one that is there now...named "firmware.bin") with the one you obtain from Corsair support....the post also mentions something about using a file with "ISP" in the name....this is, likely, specific to the issue that poster was experiencing, and the .bin files they linked for their keyboard issue. I do not know if the file you obtain from Corsair will have "ISP" in it or not. THE IMPORTANT THING IS TO OBTAIN THE .BIN FILE DIRECTLY FROM CORSAIR. Within that same post I linked, a rep. from Corsair mentions this as well...get the file from Corsair and not a 3rd party source. Once you have the proper firmware loaded onto the device, it should function normally again unless there is a hardware issue with the device. In which case, you can initiate an RMA with Corsair to have the device serviced or replaced. To summarize, it appears your device has been successfully reset and now it needs a firmware to be loaded back onto it. Once you obtain the firmware from Corsair, you should be able to load it onto the device and the device should function normally. If it does not function normally after loading the firmware, or, if for some reason you can not load the firmware onto the device. Then there may be a hardware issue with the device. If that is the case, then the next step would be to RMA the device with Corsair. I hope this helps. I know these things can be frustrating, but work with Corsair support. It may take them a day or two to respond to your inquiries (they stay pretty busy). However, it has been my experience that they will work with you and follow up with you. Be patient, be courteous (Corsair support are people just like you) and I Corsair support will work with you. I hope this helps and I wish you the very best of luck with this issue.

I do not know where you plugged in the "USB" connection for the Commander CORE that came with your Capellix CPU Cooler. This is the USB connection that plugs onto a USB header located in your system (see image). Please make sure it is connected to a USB header located directly on your motherboard. If it already is connected to a USB header on your motherboard, try another one (if you have more than one available on the motherboard...in most cases...there are, at least two (2). This is just an attempt to have the device detected in the iCUE software so that you can see it displayed in the list of devices attached to your system. It may not detect because the device needs firmware. However, it will eliminate (rule out) the USB connection as the potential cause of the issue you are experiencing with the device not being displayed in iCUE. Most likely, this is caused by the firmware...but changing the USB connection to one located directly on your motherboard is a quick and easy way of determining if the USB connection for the Commander CORE is causing this. Billy G.
Make sure the system is powered down before changing the USB connection (this will ensure that the iCUE software is not running when you change the connection). iyi şanslar arkadaşım (I saw in your screenshot 😉)

Even with iCUE turned off, my fan lights are not on. When I tested it by completely removing the Commander Core and replacing it with the Lightning Node Core that came with the iCUE4000x, all the lights worked. But it doesn't work with Commander Core. I opened a support ticket with Corsair last night but still no response. I will wait patiently. I hope it gets resolved soon, because my case being dark scares me. 😄  It really started to overwhelm me that my lights were causing lagging/stunning problems due to software problems. I've been dealing with this issue for almost 2 months now and couldn't resolve it with Corsair officials. I pay high prices for premium products and still get frustrated with minor issues. It's truly astonishing. Hopefully they will give me the correct firmware file quickly and I will get rid of these problems. Because these problems will play an important role in determining the brand of my system parts that I will change in the future. 🙂

You are not the only customer to experience this specific issue. From what I have read during my research, this can happen when the firmware does not fully update properly (corrupted firmware). This prevents the iCUE software from loading the device and this is why you cannot see it listed with the other devices in iCUE. Resetting the device does not cause this. This can happen during a firmware update within iCUE. It has happened to many other customers based upon what I have read. Once a good firmware file is on the device, iCUE should be able to load the firmware file properly, and the device will be detected. I am sorry you are having this experience, and I hope your support ticket is addressed quickly with successful results. nimetler üzerinize olsun! They said they will send me a new commander core, I guess I'll wait another 5 months.. 😞 Note for All Corsair Users: Never press the reset button of your Commander, because your RGBs will not work again. I guess it's not a reset, it's the Kill button. 🙂
VapeArt
A new commander core was shipped and I have completed the assembly. The lagging/stunning issue persists and I really don't know what to do. It really amazes me that Corsair can't fix this problem. I don't know what to do anymore. I don't want to use my computer anymore because of this problem.
