CORSAIR iCUE COMMANDER CORE XT & QL120 fans

Hey.

So I am going to buy a 6x QL120 fans which since they are single pack they don't come with a corsair controller.
I found the CORSAIR iCUE COMMANDER CORE XT which has 6 fan and 6 RGB inputs, will that be good and enough to controll the fans and make
the fans work? ICUE software and everything will work right? Since I'm a little confused.

Yes, this is straightforward set up.  The Commander XT has 6 PWM ports on one side and 6 RGB ports on the other for direct connection.  Each QL has two wires, one for RGB and one for PWM.  Fan 1 to RGB 1 and PWM 1, Fan 2 to RGB 2, PWM 2, etc.

The Commander XT needs a SATA connector for power, but also a USB 2 connection for communication between hardware and software.  USB 2 connections are little harder to come by these days.  Make sure you have one available or you will need to get a powered USB 2 hub to host.

You will need a physical adapter to connect a USB 2 female socket to a USB 3 MB pin set.  They are different pinouts and shapes.

So I'm gettin the Lian Li Evo case which has only USB 3.0 ports.

Can you list what I should buy or any recommendations?

Fans: QL120

Controller: Commander XT

The thing you're saying: ?

the case USB doesn't matter at all. you're plugging to motherboard headers directly, not to an external USB connector.

Most motherboards have two USB2 sockets (9 pin headers). Some motherboards have one only.

So really the only thing that matters is, what your motherboard model is, and if it has free headers

Oh that makes sense, I thought he meant like the USB stuff which you use for mice, keyboard etc.
Do you guys have any recommendations that have a LGA1700 socket for the latest 12th cpus?

The Commander XT and 6 QL is all you need from Corsair. Every motherboard has at least 1 internal usb 2.0 port and the Commander XT connects there. It’s if you have additional devices that need a usb 2 internal port — like a AIO cooler. Anything that is software controlled will need a usb connection.

Are you asking about cpu cooling options?
