alaweni
I have (2) 512MB Corsair modules: CMX512-3200C2PT (XMS3202v2.2). They were purchased from Zipzoomfly.com in May 2003. My computer specs are as follows: Intel 865PERLK 200Mhz FSB / 2.8C / BFG6800GT / 80GB Maxtor / 380W Antec Sonata I have not had any problems with the computer until I started playing World of Warcraft and have been experiencing game crashes frequently. The error messages point to "memory write errors" and Blizzard's tech support told me to run Memtest86+ v1.51. The results are as follows (I ran until I saw errors): 2-3-3-6: Both Modules - 1024MB - 4 errors Test 5 - 1 Pass - Slot 1/3 2-3-3-6: Module #1 - 512MB - 4 errors Test 5 - 2 Passes - Slot 1 2-3-3-6: Module #2 - 512 MB - 2 errors Test 5 - 1 Pass - Slot 1 2.5-3-3-8: Both Modules - 1024MB - 856 errors Test 5 - 7 Passes - Slot 1/3 2.5-3-3-8: Module #1 - 512MB - 4 errors Test 5 - 2 Passes - Slot 1 2.5-3-3-8: Module #2 - 512 MB - 4 errors Test 5 - 8 Passes - Slot 1 2.5-3-3-8: Module #1 - 512 MB - 76 errors Test 5 - 2 Passes - Slot 2 2.5-3-3-8: Module #2 - 512 MB - 6 errors Test 5 - 2 Passes - Slot 2 I did not feel it was important to continue testing more slots. If I can't get slot 1/3 or 2/4 working with the modules I can't enable the DDR functionality. The is an Intel Board and the only RAM settings that are adjustable are timings. This system has not been overclocked at all. Your help is appreciated. Roland
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted June 6, 2005 Corsair Employees Share Posted June 6, 2005 Getting errors with both modules and errors in test 5 or 8 would suggest some other problem. Can you test the modules in another MB? Please test the modules one at a time with http://www.memtest.org and I would set the Dim Voltage to 2.7 Volts as well. If you do find one failing then lets get it or them replaced. Please follow the link in my signature “I think I have a bad part!” and we will be happy to replace them or it! However; if you get errors with both modules, that would suggest some other problem. And I would try testing the memory in another system to be sure. I do have an option that is called "CPC Override" but I don't know if this should be enabled or not. Unfortunately I do not have another system to test them out. Are there any other tests I can do with my current system to diagnose other issues?
