gingerichflier
I am trying to use iCue to control my Vengeance RGB DDR4 Rams. I would like them to display temperature of my NVidia 3080Ti. I have set it to do so in both Lighting Effects and Hardware Lighting. Currently, it only shows my GPU card temp when I have iCue open and have the Hardware Lighting tab selected. If I go to Lighting Effects or close out of the app, they just turn steady red. I understand I may need to leave the iCue app running in the background, which I can set to start when my system starts up, but I'd rather not have to actually go into the app and select the tab to get this functionality. c-attack
When you are in the CUE app and in the Hardware Mode tab, the software will generate a preview of the lighting effect. However, this can be misleading as it’s still software generated and speed or effect design may be different in HW Mode. I’ll be surprised if the RAM can do gpu temp without the software to fetch the data. It should work in the Lighting Effects tab (software mode). I don’t use temp color display often, but in the past it had some hard color change points and not a delicate shading. Check your color temp range. If red=50C and you are at 47C, it might still show as red. My Corsair build is in pieces on the floor, but I’ll try to check this out later today. gingerichflier
I think I may have figured out what was causing it to revert to red. My MSI control center had a box checked to override third party software. I unchecked that yesterday while I was troubleshooting, but didn't do a restart. Today when I turned the computer on, the RAMs were lit to the color I would expect them to be when the GPU was cool. I went back into MSI Center and looked to see what the RAMs were set to, and they no longer appear. I think the MSI software was overriding the control when I was in any mode other than the preview mode you mentioned above. I closed out of iCue and the lights still display the color they should. Thanks!
c-attack
Ok good. Your description matches what some other Mystic Light/Aura users report when it is allowed to access other devices. RAM is a common battleground as all the programs can access it through the motherboard, but sometimes it’s KBs or mice too.
