Gzzze
hello, everyone I just started using the k100 opx today and I ran into several issues. 1. macro, mute and winlock indicator light brightness inconsistent. The brightness of these three indicators is obviously half dim compared to the right numlk, caps and scrlk. This picture may not be obvious, but it is indeed lower in brightness. 2. When I press mute key or wheel key, the light of control wheel, winlock key and profile key always flash once. The strange thing is that the above problems only occur when the icue is connected. When I quit icue, the brightness returns to normal. I thought it was a problem with icue, so I reinstalled a few times and tried to go back to an older version, but none of that worked. After that I reset the keyboard and entered the BIOS, but nothing worked. Can anyone tell me what is the problem? How to solve this problem? My icue version is 4.22.203. The firmware version is 1.9.26. Both are the latest version.
c-attack
I can't re-create either condition. It seems like a panel or LED issue, but rather strange that is does not occur after exiting CUE. One thing you can try is go to the wheel settings and disable the wheel brightness control. Unless you actively use the wheel to control this during your day, it more often seems to be the cause of issues like this. Current K100 OPX firmware is 0.32.262, but I suspect this was just a mis-translation and not related to the current issue. You can try to force update the firmware by "check for update -> None -> Force update". This does not read like a firmware issue on the surface, but I am not sure of the underlying cause either. It would make sense to start a Support Ticket with Corsair as well.

You say the current firmware version of k100 opx is 0.32.262, but my icue does show version 1.9.26. Even if I connect the keyboard to the icue of other computers, it still shows 1.9.26. I also tried to force the firmware update, but still no effect. I suspect that this may be problems with the keyboard itself. I am now contacting the merchant to have them check. c-attack
Maybe someone should check me then on the firmware version as well. Mine is an original run K100 Optical. Possible they changed chips on the KB at some point? However, I don't think this is the resolution anyway since the behavior seems limited to the in CUE environment. That normally suggests a software issue. Those LED lights in the top panel should be immune to any lighting patterns or settings you are using. Taskmaster
I have this same problem! Even now, in October 2022, this appears to be an ongoing issue! I have had multiple K100(s) and each have had this problem! I also believe it is not the keyboard itself but with the iCUE software running the keyboard. Whether going back to iCUE version 4.21.173, as suggested by some other users that stated it seemed to fix the issue, did NOT in fact fix the issue...and even with the brand new iCUE version 4.28.177...this problem STILL EXISTS!!! So, just to confirm the issues/problem, I will provide it here for additional paper trail proof. While iCUE is running, if I press on and or depress it off, the Mute button will DIM the lighting on the Mute indicator symbol in the LED Panel on the K100 (OPX) keyboard...as well as the lights of the Control Wheel, Macro button in the Control Wheel, Profile button, and WinLock button. Also note: if pressing the Macro button in the control wheel...also has the same Dimming issue. Additionally, it seems somewhat random when the issues occur...as they do not dim for every press/depress...but it will occur after several presses/depresses but randomly! Fix your stuff Corsair! Taskmaster
I forgot to mention that the Mute indicator light will also sometimes be off entirely (NOT LIT AT ALL) when the Mute button is pressed and active! This is also random like the other above issues! I am attaching images below to try to show the issues and differences among the lights when Dimmed or Fully lit...and or OFF regarding the Mute indicator light. Again, hopefully, someone at Corsair will fix this issue! Edited October 7, 2022 by Taskmaster
Taskmaster
I also forgot to mention that the Mute indicator light does not light when the keyboard is used WITHOUT the iCUE software...and there are other strange lighting issues that occur with the Control Wheel being other colors as well. This seems like it might be a physical issue with the KB circuit panel. I would contact Corsair Support with an eye toward replacement. If this was a pure software issue this thread would be very long by now. The peculiarity and randomness of the error make it seem like a physical problem versus software errors that are usually more consistent. It is "normal" for the mute indicator light not to work when CUE is not running. However, since the other indicator lights do work in that state and the OS does respond to each press of the mute button, this seems like something Corsair will need to address with a firmware update. This one is universal and not just your KB.

This one is universal and not just your KB. Sorry, going to have to disagree with this post. A physical issue would mean you could recreate this issue at any point in time, ICUE running or not. Since this only happens when ICUE is running, it's clearly a software issue. That being said, just bought myself a new K100 RGB Optical-Mechanical Gaming Keyboard yesterday from JB HIFI, had these exact issues. Returned it and got a new one.. Same issue. The possibility of it happening to two separate keyboards is pretty small. So definitely software. P.S Forcing firmware update did nothing.
