dudy
Pleas please help me, today i bought the Corsair Twinx1024-3200C2 RAM, I've allready one gig of this ram, hmm but i think it was a little bit othe Ram than this one because the ram i bought a year ago cost 260€ and this corsair only costs 150 € , hmm but i think that doesnt matter. I've got a Abit C7-Max3 mainboard and on the corsair page is written that is compatible. But when i play games, or sometimes when i surf on the internet the pc reboots. Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted June 4, 2005 Corsair Employees Share Posted June 4, 2005 Please make sure that you have the latest BIOS for your MB and load Setup/optimized default settings, and try the following BIOS settings; TwinX1024 or TwinX512-3200C2 Softmenu SetUp CPU Operating Speed: User Define CPU Freq: 200 DRAM Clock: 400 MHz CPU/DRAM ratio: 1:1 or 3:3 or 6:6 Memory or Dim Reference voltage: 2.8 Volts AGP Voltage: Default *unless you have ATI (9200 or 9600) or NVIDIA (5200 or 5700) then 1.6 Volts suggested!* Advanced/Chipset Configure Dram timing by SPD: Disabled/User define SDRAM CAS Latency: 2.5T SDRAM RAS to CAS Delay (tRCD): 3T SDRAM Row Precharge (tRP): 3T SDRAM Active to Precharge Delay (tRAS): 7T SDRAM Burst Length: 8 USB Legacy Support: Disabled All other settings should be set to default settings! Then please test them one at a time with http://www.memtest.org and let’s make sure it's not some other issue! I would run the test for at least 2-3 passes to be sure! dudy
but i know some other forums, where the answers come more quickly. hmm doesnt matter, so i didn't change any BIOS settings, but it runs. I am a little bit frightened of my BIOS because a year ago i changed some settings and my motherboard got destroyed  but i was lucky and got a new one from the shop where i bought it. Thank you anyway for answering
CMC_SAVAGE
but i know some other forums, where the answers come more quickly. For future reference, Ram Guy is in California. You need to think about the time difference. He's the Guru in these forums. A MOD may answer the post if they're online. He's the only one paid for doing this, everyone else does it for fun. Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted June 7, 2005 Corsair Employees Share Posted June 7, 2005 Please let me know another memory forum that answers quicker than we do!
Donkeypunch-
also, when you talk about other forums, I hope you're not talking about other random forums. Of course other forums will answer quickly if they're not official support forums. There is only 1 guy, The Ram Guy, that answers the majority of the questions here. Anyone else that does is usually just a random person or moderator with some knowledge on your particular situation. Random people randomly answering your questions on other forums that may have thousands of members doesn't exactly constitute good solutions as they are not the manufacturer...all they can suggest are just that....suggestions. Just a bunch of people with some knowledge that suggest fixes that don't necessarily produce any fixes. That doesn't mean that the manufacturer may always be able to fix your problem because the problem is usually a compatibility issue in situations like yours which is more the motherboard manufacturing company's problem as the RAM works fine. Now considering there's only 1 person that technically answers questions here, I would say it's pretty fast ;): You could also help the situation by explaining what you have tried. It sounds like you are trying to run different revisions of RAM on your board and maybe your board doesn't like that so much. Have you tried running each set seperately in dual channel mode? Have you tried running memtest with all the modules to see if any of them are bad? "I've allready one gig of this ram, hmm but i think it was a little bit othe Ram than this one because the ram i bought a year ago cost 260€ and this corsair only costs 150" I don't know what you're trying to say here or what price has anything to do with your problem, but in case you didn't know, computer parts (no matter the part) WILL drop in price over time, especially after a year. I'm thinking that you think you got worse ram considering the price difference. A good reason for no reply from random people is simple: lack of information/clarity/research. Based on what you posted, it doesn't look like you read one guide to how to troubleshoot, you just posted and started blaming people because you can't find any help. By the way, what teh RAM guy posted was the first initial step to troubleshooting any RAM problem. It's common troubleshooting knowledge and you should have been able to find this using the search button on those forums that help you so quickly.
