Robranger714
I have purchased from FRY's a stick of VS512MB400 for my new MSI PT880 NEO-FSR Mobo and everytime I load a CPU instensive app ( like Empire Earth 2 ) , it wigs out !! I was getting reboots , now I am getting the BSOD with no data-just a blue screen . Its not getting hot , either. Can anyone tell me the Bios settings for the memory ? The bios is upgraded with the latest . I need to know info such as voltage , dual or single channel setting ,blah blah blah . This is the first time In my life I have had to configure memory before , so I am a retard at this . The mobo website says this board requires specific memory info . Any ideas? Maybe buy better memory ? Crap , I dunno , I have had this new machine for a month and it has never worked right . Everything else has been checked and double checked . I even put in three different video cards !!
Yellowbeard
First, test the memory with the test from http://www.memtest86.com for 3-5 passes. Also, please list all your bios settings that relate to memory, CPU, and voltages. And, do you have the latest bios for your MOBO? Mike.
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted June 2, 2005 Corsair Employees Share Posted June 2, 2005 Please make sure you have the latest BIOS installed in your MB and load optimized/optimal default settings, and try the following BIOS settings; Advanced Chipset: Memclock Mode: Manual (400) Bank Interleaving: 4/Enabled Burst Length: 8 SDRAM CAS Latency: 2.5T SDRAM RAS to CAS Delay (tRCD): 3T SDRAM Active to Precharge Delay (tRAS): 8T SDRAM Row Precharge (tRP): 3T Frequency Voltage Control: Spread Spectrum: Enabled CPU FSB Clock: 200 DDR Voltage: 2.7/2.75 Volts All other settings should be set to default settings! Then please test them one at a time with http://www.memtest.org and let’s make sure it's not some other issue! I would run the test for at least 2-3 passes to be sure!
