K55 RGB Pro, lighting not working when ICUE isn't running

I have noticed that when I'm not actively in the Hardware Lighting screen or if iCUE isn't running, the rgb on my keyboard turns off. I have to be in the application (or have in minimized) in order for the lights to stay on. I don't have any special profiles and use the Default one, and the K55 Pro doesn't have onboard memory that can be accessed via Device Settings. I tried using the function key and 1-5 as well 6-0 to see if that worked, but it does nothing. I have two of these keyboards (one for work, the other for home) and my work one stays on no matter what, but the lights on my home one turn off when not actively in application.
