Jeyyssii
Hey guy, I was wondering if anyone could help me. I just noticed that my ram RGB lags when rebooting. When I first bought it the RGB would light up as soon as I hit the power switch on my case now it waits for my motherboard's qled dram before it lights up. Also, there is a lag when setting the hardware setting on iCue. I'm assuming it the Aura sync plugin that's doing this?
Corsair Employees Corsair Notepad Posted March 16, 2022 Corsair Employees Share Posted March 16, 2022 That is going to be dependent upon your motherboard when it powers up and initializes the DRAM installed in the system. As for when setting hardware lighting there will always be a bit of lag as it has to write that information directly to the SPD chip on the memory and has never been instantaneous. Jeyyssii
so there are no errors? The hardware lighting takes a full 3 second to register. I'm a little concerned because it's my first PC. Also another question, I have a B550M Plus WiFi motherboard and it has armoury crate. Is it normal for the RGB to not sync with armoury crate and use hardware lighting instead when iCue itself is close? Thank you.
c-attack
5 hours ago, Jeyyssii said: The hardware lighting takes a full 3 second to register. This is normal. In order to save to hardware lighting, it must write the effect to the individual memory modules For RAM, that means it must go through the motherboard and it is typical for it to take a few seconds to complete. You'll notice when you the same in software mode (normal lighting effects) the change is instantaneous. This is because it does not write the effect to the device -- only the program settings. It is also typical for Corsair RAM to follow the instructions given to it from it's own program (CUE) and not another brands control software. You do have the ability to sync basic motherboard lighting with the CUE program for Asus boards by enabling the Asus plugin in CUE settings. Trying to force it the other ways (RAM -> Armory Crate) is not likely to turn out how you want. The CUE program lighting options are specifically designed for Corsair lighting zones. Armory Crate is not.
