jrwininger
I would like to do a vertical GPU mount in my 7000d case. Rather than use a vertical adapter, I'd rather just use the built in mounting option (above the PSU) that this case provides. The issue is that the only truly compatible cable that Corsair provides is PCIe 3. I know the LinkUp PCIe 4 cable would work, but it would sag when mounted above the PSU, since it's really designed to be installed into a vertical adapter. What's the best option for a vertical GPU mount in this case (above the PSU)?
Tex_Recoil
Hello, did you find answer to this. I came here to find the answer to the same question you are asking. I want a PCie 4 riser cable for my new system build in a corsair 7000d airflow using the case vertical mount holes. If you have the answer please tell. Thanks
Tex_Recoil
No reply and no update, guess I will tell my own findings. I've been busy doing things and had to put my new system on the back burner, anyway got back to being able to work on it and during that time. I order the LinkUp Pcie 4.0 right angle 30cm (300mm) riser cable going by the lenght of corsair riser cable. Which I will tell you is way to long, You shouldnt have to bunch the cable up that dam much. After doing a Prebuild on part of the new system. I have determined that 30cm(300mm) is way to long, for any of the 3 mounting spots in a 7000d case. Mounting spot closest to Mb(motherboard) should be 15cm(150mm) length as well as the middle mounting spot(prolly can go 20cm or 200mm lenght for middle). 3rd mounting spot (closest to side glass) should be about 20cm(200mm) lenght. So 30cm(300mm) is over 10cm(100mm) to dam long. Anyways, I have ordered the Linkup pcie 4.0 right angle 15cm(150mm) riser cable. Once it come's in, I will do a fitting check on it and make sure it fits without having to bunch the riser cable up behind the GPU. By the way, Im mounting my evga 3070 ti in the middle verticle mounting spot.
Tex_Recoil
LinkUp Pcie 4.0 15cm(150mm) is the right lenght for the two inner mounting spots closest to the motherboard. The mounting spot closest to glass has to be 200ish mm in length, sorry could give actual length. Didnt buy that length of riser cable. Anyway with the 15cm length riser cable, there is no need to bunch/fold the riser cable behind the Graphic card. I hope this help someone out there with the same question. Nabby09
Tex, when you used the 150mm cable, did you have enough length to make a 90 degree bend or was that pretty much a ~45 degree straight shot from the base of the riser to the motherboard slot? I have two populated pcie 2.0 x1 slots to clear. Had to use one to update my mobo to wifi 6 and another to get a couple more USB headers (the 7000D has so many). Also, I assume the riser fit the case mounting screws alright for you? I saw some discussion on another forum that some (ASUS and Thermaltake, I think?) don't match up.
