revrndpwn716
I have the 5000x RGB and I installed 3 more Corsair fans as exhaust for the 3 already mounted on the front. The fans are connected to the rgb and fan controller that comes with the 5000x. My issue is that iCue does not allow me to control the fan curve because it does not register the fan controller. It only shows the lighting node. Is there a way I can control these fans and set the curve?
c-attack
The 5000x comes with a PWM hub, not a fan controller. That device is effectively a powered splitter, allowing 6 fans to run from one PWM control signal. The lead control wire goes to the fan controller, in this case likely your motherboard. That is not part of CUE. In order to be a CUE device there must be a USB 2 connection, like the the Lighting Node Core RGB controller that does come with the 5000x. revrndpwn716
Thanks for the response. I actually got in to the bios of my MOBO and was able to adjust the curve of my fans. I didn't realize that because the fan device that comes on the 5000x plugs in to the MOBO that the Rog Strix software was were you set the curves. On a side note the curve is set for the fans as a group and not individually in this instance. I am still pretty new to the building community so this may be a normal thing but I'm not sure. c-attack
It is normal. The little square circuit board is a PWM repeater and not an actual fan controller. It behaves like a powered splitter. The fan in slot 1 (dot) is the control fan. It talks to the actual fan controller (Motherboard header). All others follow its lead.
revrndpwn716
Ok cool. Thanks for clearing that up. There is a lot going on with this system that I didn't know I would need to consider.
