Elite LCD Megathread

I find it shocking and incredibly disappointing it has already been this long and Corsair still has not released a fix for this RTOD... For a company as established and with as many engineers and resources as they have, I truly hope this issue is at the top of their priority list, especially for those here who have spent hundreds to thousands of dollars on their products like myself only to have to stare at this ridiculous red triangle on our Elite LCD.

Yeah, its disappointing that this has been going on for folks since pretty much day one.

I've spent a small fortune on Corsair gear in my machine, fully buying into the "iCue to rule them all" mindset, and have been repeatedly disappointed. QL fans not holding colour or LEDs popping out on fans, iCue's dashboard reporting differing temps than I see elsewhere, the colours on my Vengeance Pro memory consistently go nuts, Commander Pro that came and went, and more. This is just the latest in a line of "aesthetic disappointments."

It's a shame, when it all works well, everything looks great. Just that it doesn't work well that often...

It sometimes makes me regret owning any RGB or LCD computer components and going back to non-RGB, happily relinquishing these software related headaches.

My screen works but I cannot change the display within icue. Its stuck on CPU temp.

Yup.  A lot of us are dealing with that.

Hopefully they have a fix for it within the next 10 days.

No, you are not.
But not every bug is found or resolved in beta testing, unfortunately. That's just not how things work.

Fortunately, we are not the actual "beta" testers like DevBiker commented but this particular error is serious and the length for which it has continued is absolutely unacceptable. I am just fortunate that I can still return all of my Corsair products by the end of the month if they fail to rectify this issue by their expected release date as per their comments on these forums.

Every few months I check into this forum and see that the LCD display issues, the noisy Elite pump issues, QL series fan LED's failing issues, and the ever present list of Corsair iCue and USB problems are STILL not resolved, I thank myself for checking these forums before I made purchase decisions for my latest build. It's sad to see so many people that haven't figured out the sad truth about Corsair yet. Good luck you guys!

Sometimes bugs are found but you don't realize that they are bugs, they are dismissed as something else, or no one realizes the impact. I've been doing software dev for going on 30 years now; it happens. It's not a perfect world and if that's what you are expecting, you are in for a whole lifetime of disappointments.

No one said that either, nor even implied it.

Sorry ... not everyone can be as perfect as you! Obviously, you've never, ever, made a mistake in your entire life and expect the rest of the world to be just as perfect. The disappointment you must go through on a daily basis must be absolutely soul-crushing.

Let's take it easy fellas.  We're all on the same boat.  Lol, get it?

Anyways, we should be close with an update.

as a professional tester for over 30 years, i find that when this many bugs leak into production its usually down to the execs making decisions they know nothing about, like cutting the budget of the QA team, or the dev work taking much longer than expected, the launch date not changing then QA expected to still complete in a much shorter timeframe.  Its time that the execs woke up and realised that QA is an important part of the process and if they dont want to listen to the experts then they will never have quality products.

The only other reason i have found for this level of bad quality is if they hire a crap QA lead / manager and they fail to properly plan the QA activites.

So you've never, ever, ever had a bug slip out that was completely missed? Or misidentified? In 30 years of testing, never?

I highly, highly, highly doubt that. That really stretches believability. Even Microsoft, who probably has the most thorough testing regime in the industry, has missed major bugs. And I can guarantee that it wasn't because of budget cuts (they have a 1:1 test/dev ratio).

It's a bug. It happens. They are working in fixing it and getting it out. Or do you want them to shortcut QA to get a half-baked fix into your hands? Then you can REALLY be their beta testers.

So I have a unit, been messing up since I got it in late December. Corsair just wants to send new parts that they know wont fix it. Bestbuy wont refund because its outside the window. If Corsair knows these things are broken and have been broken, why wont they give me my money back? Tired of this crap, wont ever buy another product from them.

"This usually resolves any light firmware problems. If you’re still encountering issues, I would strongly recommend you contact our support team so we can capture your unit and take a look for ourselves in the off chance that a new bug has appeared."

How about you give me a new one or my money back instead of saying, box mine up and send it back, and my PC can be down for 2 months while yall figure out an RMA process to get me a replacement? This is absolute trash service.

i got my corsair elite h150i lcd error. this is what i do to fix it:

1. unintall icue

2. turn off my computer and turn off my power supply switch

3. unplug the thin cable in your LCD, and plug it again after couple minute

4. turn on your pc

hope this can help

My screen was working perfectly fine until this morning, when I booted my pc i saw the red triangle on the screen, I restarted my pc and now nothing is on the screen, also in the Icue app the option to customize the screen is gone.  I am using the Y splitter.

Also a quick question.  The cable to the commander does not fit as snug or as deep as the original corsair capellix cap.

Same for you guys?

I don't know how it fits with the original Corsair Capellix cap but the connector to the commander in the Elite LCD set is quite loose, it's very easy to disconnect it while managing other cables.
