XP-M 2500+ oc w/TwinX 3200

Recommended Posts

I want to get my XP-M at a good stable 2.3 (starting w/ 200 x 11.5) OC using a 500W X-Connect PS and 2xCMX256A-3202C2. I'll be trying to do this on an A7N8X2.0.

I would appreciate some suggestions as to recommended CPU and DDR voltages, plus any other techniques that have worked with these particular parts. Thx.

You should be able to run the CPU at 1.65V and 2.4GHz without any hassle whether it be 10X240 or 12X200 depending on your ram used. This is the standard all XP-M 2500 and 2600 cpus should do.

If BH-5 chipset, it could be 2-2-2-5 10X240 around 3.1-3.3 Vdimm.

If TCCD, it could be 2.5-3-3-6 10X240 around nomore than 2.8 Vdimm.

If some generic ram, default timing 12X200 probably 2.6 Vdimm.

It also depends on what mobo you got and how much the NB can stand such high FSB, and etc.

Get the best HSF you can find. I am using a TT Typhoon with a 12cm TT Smartfan fan that blows 90something cfm to the CPU.

220 x 11 = post but hang after CPU id string, Vcore 1.625, VDDr 2.7 cas 3-4-4-8

210 x 11 = post. MemTest86+ pass. Vcore 1.6, Vddr 2.6 cas 3-4-4-8, AGP 66

209 x 11.5 = post. MemTest86+ pass. Vcore 1.625, VDDr 2.6, AGP 66, Cas 3-4-4-8

CMX256A-3202C2 is Winbond CH I believe. So 2.6-2.7 is safe? Up the timings?

I don't have a hardcore mb OC/HSF only on ASUS A7N8x2.0 cooled by an Aeroflow 2 :sunglasse so these are probably typical results.

Temps were around 35 deg c after running the iterations of Memtest.

I have the same motherboard and posted in here earlier last week. Try ram timings of 11-2-2-2 @2.8. If possible, use the modded Trats BIOS. This will allow for more voltage to your ram along with some other tweaks.
