Corsair Harpoon RGB - Does not work in 2.4GHz, BT or even directly wired

Recommended Posts

Hi there,

I’ve been using the Corsair Harpoon RGB mouse for about 6 months, and yesterday I was unable to use it with my laptop over Bluetooth (even though I used to often and both devices were paired recently). Thinking I’d need to pair them again, I’ve simply followed the procedure to put the mouse into pairing mode by holding down the DPI cycle button whilst turning the mouse on in BT mode, but the mouse does not enter pairing mode and the LEDs simply cycle through all colors. The same happens if I go into 2.4GHz mode, and even more worrying: the exact same behaviour is shown when I use the Corsair USB cable to connect the mouse directly to my computer. It doesn’t event go into charging mode, and the mouse does not work in the wired configuration either.

Whilst being wired, I can’t see the device in device manager or in the iCue software (updated to latest version). I can however follow the reset procedure by plugging the mouse in the computer whilst holding the two action buttons, to which the mouse will flash white 5 times before returning to cycling through all the colors.

Is it toast? I used it well within normal use so not sure what component could have gone so that the mouse turns on but does not function. What’s more, the red light under the mouse which is used to track position does not turn on in any configuration, including wired.

Let me know your thoughts…

Hello there InTheMood,

We would first suggest you try a soft-reset of the mouse. This will clear the mouse’s internal memory, which often corrects issues such as the one you are experiencing. Please follow the directions below:

To reset a wireless mouse:
Turn off your wireless mouse.
Hold down the left and right mouse buttons.
While holding down the mouse buttons, turn the mouse back on.
After around 5 seconds, release the buttons. You will see an LED flash if it resets successfully.
