A64
Hi all, I got my new 4400c25 ram not long ago, been trying to get it run at rated speed with my 3200+ winnie, no go at all... wondering if you guys here can suggest me timings or settings that i should go from. below is my system DFI SLI-DR 3/10 A64 3200+ 0445 vpmw Corsair 4400c25 TC2-550 psu i have tried almost every sets of settings, like 10x260-275, 9x260 - 300, 8 x 260 - 300... change the ram voltage.. vcore..etc ... all no go.. the only time i get pass 4 hours + memtest is 8 x 275 .. this winnie 0445 vpmw known to hit 2600Mhz easily, either with 10x260, 9x290.. some to 2.7Ghz stable... I am just wondering mine,, hope you guys can suggest me some timings or settings that i should tweak.. also, i have found that 10 x 275 runs with less errors in memtest than 9 x 275 ... weird ?? someone told me never use auto timings... no way to get stable at auto timings..is this true ? thx

IIRC, it has to do with .5 multipliers. Can't remember the specifics though.
A64
i guess the model in general... at least i should hit 9 x 250 without any problem... as for the 9x275, i don't use 9.5 or 8.5,, it's 9 x 275, which i think should performs at least better than 10 x 275.. lower cpu speed.. hmm.. hope you guys can point me the timings that i should use instead of auto timings. A64
yeah, that's stock and rated speed, i have tried that settings and leave everything else auto, no go... well, after i try to tweak the timings, i guess i manage to pass memtest #5 for 5 loops at 9 x 275..haven't got time to test it longer.. also, this cpu can hit 2700 stable on other boards.. i got this cpu off someone who run at 2700 stable..so, 10 x 270 shouldn't be a problem,, but just the ram don't like it.. wish you could tell me good timing that i should set as not to leave them auto ... thx. iamPatrick
also, this cpu can hit 2700 stable on other boards.. i got this cpu off someone who run at 2700 stable..so, 10 x 270 shouldn't be a problem,, but just the ram don't like it.. Have you checked to see what you can hit with the CPU, by lowering your memory divider? Check to see how fast you can get the CPU without memory holding you back. Then from there make sure you are not exceeding you HTT. What is your HTT multiplier at? Go one at a time to see what max speed of each is (CPU, Memory, HTT). Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted May 31, 2005 Corsair Employees Share Posted May 31, 2005 Please make sure you have the latest BIOS installed for your MB (download the Beta version) and load optimized defaults settings, and try the following BIOS settings; TwinX512 or Twinx1024-4400C25 Genie BIOS/DRAM Configuration DRAM Frequency Set: 1:1 or 200MHz Command per Clock:Disabled SDRAM CAS Latency: 2.5T SDRAM RAS to CAS Delay (tRCD): 4T SDRAM Row Precharge (tRP): 4T SDRAM Active to Precharge Delay (tRAS): 8T And leave the rest at AUTO setting Genie BIOS FSB BUS Frequency: 275 LDT/FSB Frequency ratio: 4X LDT Bus Transfer Width: 16 16 CPU/FSB Frequency ratio: 7x PCI Ex: 100 K8 cool N’ quiet: Disable CPU VID Start Up Value: 1.55 CPU VID Control: 1.55 CPU VID Special Control: 113% Chipset Voltage Control: 1.8 DRAM Voltage Control: 2.8 PC Health Status/HW Monitor: Make sure all temp is at 25C All other settings are motherboards defaults Then please test them one at a time with http://www.memtest.org and let’s make sure it's not some other issue! I would run the test for at least 2-3 passes to be sure!

I would run the test for at least 2-3 passes to be sure! i am using 3/10 bios. is it safe to go for beta version of bios ? below is the settings that i am currently running stable at 270 x 10. VID = 1.55v VID Special = 104% chipset = 1.5v LDT = 1.2v LDT 3x Ram @ 2.7V CPC = Enabled CAS Latency(CL) = 2.5 RAS to CAS(Trcd) = 4 Min RAS# Active time(Tras) = 7 Row Precharge Time(Trp) = 3 Row Cycle Time(Trc) = 10 Row Refresh Cycle Time(Trfc) = 15 Row to Row Delay(Trrd) = 03 Write Recovery Time(Twr) = 02 Write to Read Delay(Twtr) = 02 Read to Write Delay(Trwt) = 04 Refresh Period (Tref) = 200MHz 15.6us Write CAS Latency(Twcl) = 01 DRAM Bank Interleave = Enabled Skew = AUTO/off Skew Value = 0 DRAM Drive Strength = Level 7 DRAM Data Drive Strength = Level 1 Max Async Latency = 7ns Read Preamble Time = 5ns Idle Cycle Limit = 256 Dynamic Counter = Enabled R/W Queue Bypass = 16x Bypass Max = Auto/4x 32 byte Granularity = Disable(8burst) BTW, how to check all the temp below 25 ? i had antec p160 with temp display. so with the sensor clip on top of heatspreader, it shows 45deg when normal use.. when memtest will go up to around 49-51 if not mistaken.. any idea ? or suggestion ? the things is when i try to manually set to 2.5 - 4- 4 - 8 , and with everything else to auto, running at 9 x 275, no go !!! but the cpu can run 2700mhz stable.. so, should have something to do with the ram .. Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted July 8, 2005 Corsair Employees Share Posted July 8, 2005 Please change it to 25 degree not check it. You can change this option on the BIOS under PC Health Status.
