keyboard RBG turns off by itself after update

corsair icue update 4.20.169.
After this update every time i close the software window (clicking the x top right) The lights turn off the moment i click on something.
re-installing did not help. Setting up my profile again does not work.. 
And the version before this works for me. But updating breaks it again. funny enough if i go to the bottom right and on windows, right click icue and exit it. My lights turn on and work again. But now i'm not really using the icue software at all. Whats going on here?

So.. Not using the software fix it?????
