Hello everybody

I have upgraded my system, so that i use 4 pcs. CMX512-3200c2 (2048MB), on my ASUS P4C-800Deluxe with P4-3,4Ghz. Bios is 1021d_03

Before i hat 2pcs. CMX512-3200c2 (1024MB) without any problems.

My System never was overclocked, all settings are Standard or AUTO.

Now i have the following problem. When i push the Power ON at the front side, the PC starts up for a view seconds, then turns off. So i have to turn off and turn on the main power switch on the backside, by the power supply. After that i can turn the PC on again on the Power ON Button at front side.

The PC starts up and i get an erroer Overclocking Failure, Press F1 for Setup or F2 for loading defaults. And it shows DUAL RAM 266Mhz. ....

After going in the setup and leave it, the pc is starting normal.

Please can telle me somebode the settings i have to choose manually for the RAM and CPU ?

Voltage, Timing etc.

I will not overclockk my System, but iwill eliminate the startup probleme...

Thanks and best regards.

This is the normal act for ASUS BIOSes. When you do some overclock and for any reason you can't go past BIOS, you power off then power on again your system. Then BIOS assumes you did some oc and push all back to "safe" settings -- mainly 200FSB, normal settings and ddr266 speed. It also shows up this message "Overclocking Failure".

I suggest you to rollback to a stable bios. Actually, i've tried 1021_03 too but my Audigy 2 didn't liked that one, so i got back to 1019. And check CPU fan connection too, as ASUS likes to shutdown itself if it not detects CPU fan rotation.

HTH.
