revinpontaic
Well I've got the Twinx2048-3200C2 and to my disbelief when I installed them in slot 0 and slot 2 and cleared cmos, then loaded safe defaults it would boot for 3 sec. with a continious beep, then shut down. I removed the dimm from slot 2, and it booted normal. then swapped between the 2 dimms from the slot 0/2 and alone each worked fine, but it disables PAT using those slots{1&3} alone, thus I now have no performance gain at all, and have actually lost the Nowthen if I use slot 1 and slot 3 they both work fine together. Thing is when I run the pair of cru****s in the same slot 0/2 they work fine, and in any configuration of slots, but the Corsairs dont like the "first" dual channel slots for some reason. These wont clock past 212, even if using 5:4 divider. Another thing, Why are these labeled C2 when they are 3-3-3-8 SPD? Ive taken a big performance hit and dont understand why? Now I think i'd been better off waiting fot the DDR500 modules. BTW the voltage was 2.6 default, and they run just fine with that together, but as a precaution I bumped to 2.7 which feeds 2.75 to them. Thanks again
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted September 10, 2007 Corsair Employees Share Posted September 10, 2007 Sounds like it could be an issue with the BIOS. If the modules work individually there is nothing wrong with the modules themselves. These modules are only tested to run up to DDR400, and we can not guarantee anything past that. They are tested at 2-3-3-6 (CAS-tRCD-tRP-tRAS) at 2.75v however the SPD is programmed at 3-3-3-8 which is the standard for a DDR400 part. You will need to set the latency settings manually. revinpontaic
I agree that since the cmos was cleared, it was prolly another issue for the no boot, since it had no machine specfics set for it! I went back and set the 2.3.3.6 manually, and default to 204FSB and still seems to be OK, and did see a slight gain in performance. but sadly nothing close to the bada$$ XMS's. I'll give the slot 0/2 another shot later on this week or so. Thanls again,

revinpontaic
Well heres some pretty good news RamGuy..... I have the pair of TwinX2048 C2PT's and the pair of the TwinX1024C2PT's in for a while and holding steady @ 215FSB 2.5 3 3 7 when PAT is enabled,{using 667 Strap} and 3 3 3 8 in normal 800 Strap, and both using 2.8<v. I did use just a single set of each and yes I was able to set 2 3 3 6, but I am using all 3 GB so I'm happy overall with the results and that I am still able to use all 4 dimm slots without any issues. Although I do see some slight increase in bandwidth, it's still not as fast to respond as those XMS's did. Thanks again to you and Corsair Support teams in making another coustomer happy!
