kenl
I have one CMX512-3200XLPT module which gets errors and needs to be replaced. I have tested the module in an ABIT AI7 and two MSI Neo2 Platinum boards using Microsoft's Windows Memory Diagnostic. It's running using the SPD settings and no overclocking of any kind on the system. 3 other Corsair modules and a pair of Crucial modules pass on these same systems and test. Can I please send it back? Thanks, Ken
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted May 27, 2005 Corsair Employees Share Posted May 27, 2005 Ken, The minimum suggested voltage for this module is 2,75 Volts, please test the modules one at a time with http://www.memtest.org and I would set the Dim Voltage to 2.8 Volts as well. If you do find one failing then lets get it or them replaced. Please follow the link in my signature “I think I have a bad part!” and we will be happy to replace them or it! However; if you get errors with both modules, that would suggest some other problem. And I would try testing the memory in another system to be sure. kenl
My fault for not originally saying that I was indeed running the module at the recommend 2.80V. The fact that the microsoft memory tester did find errors should be good enough, but at your suggestion I tried the tester from http://www.memtest.org. It also fails. And as noted in the original post, I have indeed tried the failing module in other systems as well as 5 other dimms in the target system. All tests point to the one module having errors. I'll fill out the RMA form. Thanks for the help. Ken
