need a rma

Recommended Posts

following the instructions in the faq i need to post here to get evidence of tech support before i make a rma request. i have 2x corsair cmx512-3200xlpt. i have run memtest86 1.55+ and it has come up with errors for one of the chips and i would like to rma it. the chips are runn at stock speeds with auto settings for the timings. the motherboard i am using is an sbit av8-3rdeye and the other chip is working properly.

If you have not done so, please test the modules one at a time with http://www.memtest.org and I would set the Dim Voltage to 2.8 Volts as the minimum suggested voltage for these module would be 2.75 Volts. If you do find one failing then lets get it or them replaced. Please follow the link in my signature “I think I have a bad part!” and we will be happy to replace them or it!

However; if you get errors with both modules, that would suggest some other problem. And I would try testing the memory in another system to be sure.

If you did not set the Dim voltage then it may indeed fail as the minimum suggested voltage for these modules is 2.75 Volts. Please test the suspect module at 2.8 Volts to be sure. And the forum post # is at the top of your post; should you need it.
