drDubz Posted January 20, 2022 Posted January 20, 2022 I want a Rain effect with a solid backdrop, however in the lighting effect tab, which works with my AIO and fans, it doesn't work with my Corsair Vengeance 8x4 3600(2 2x8 bought separately) and it will work in the hardware lighting tab but wont let me layer them, I have to chose one or the other. It worked like a month ago but all of sudden stopped working.
c-attack Posted January 20, 2022 Posted January 20, 2022 You can’t layer effects in Hardware Lighting mode (except K100). Those must be saved to the device and your limited to one. This should be fine in software mode in the normal lighting effects tab. Can you show us your lighting effects screen? 1
drDubz Posted January 20, 2022 Author Posted January 20, 2022 its actually working now, I didn't change anything so I'm not sure why it wasn't before, but here's the picture just incase I have done something wrong
c-attack Posted January 20, 2022 Posted January 20, 2022 (edited) That's the correct way to do it. Not sure what happened before either. It's easy to accidentally click into Hardware Lighting. Unlike other devices that throw warnings up at you or prevent you from adding multiple effects, the RAM HW Lighting does allow you to create them because you have the ability to save a different effect to each RAM module. It's also easy to deselect the RAM from the active effect with a single click elsewhere in the App. In CUE 3 your always knew you did this, but in CUE 4 it's not as obvious, especially when working with multiple effects.
