saleemmir
Hi, I have just bought a Corsair DDR 512MB PC3200 200 pin chip for my Compaq Presario X6000. I know that my machine uses a PC32000 chip. The problem is that the little noth that u on the chip is just a tenth of an inch (maybe even less than that) off and so I cannot insert the chip at all. Is this a known issue?? Thanks, Saleem
Yellowbeard
I have not heard of this issue. Have you tried flipping the DIMM over? The notch is offset to one side so it will only fit 1 way. Mike.
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted May 24, 2005 Corsair Employees Share Posted May 24, 2005 According to the X6000 Fact sheet you would need DDR2 SO-Dimms with this system. Also as suggested on our Memory Configurator with the part# CMSS1GB-533SOD or CMSS512MB-533SOD

saleemmir
Thanks guys, I thought that all PC 3200 chips would fit in any motherboard (as long as the speeds are supported) but I guess not. I looked for the chips suggested by the configurator but no one seems to have them. I checked all the links that the configurator provided too. I appreciate the prompt replies and help thogh. thanks, Saleem
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted May 25, 2005 Corsair Employees Share Posted May 25, 2005 Saleem, It looks like it's just a bug in the configurator and I have notified the people to get it corrected. Sorry about that, but please give it a few hours and try the buy now button again. And please let me know if does not give you a list of resellers.
