K63 can’t stay connected via 2.4Ghz or Bluetooth

I’m using the K63 with the lapboard and a Logitech mouse, both wireless from my couch. For the first few minutes the keyboard stays connected to the PC which is about 8 feet away fine, then the white antenna light on the keyboard starts flashing and it will only sporadically reconnect and work again for a brief moments. When I switch to Bluetooth I am able to pair the keyboard and windows locates it correctly, but after it’s paired it will not work over Bluetooth, and the antenna light will flash blue instead of white. This is very frustrating and mystifying, and the keyboard is about a month old. I have already done several hard resets using the escape key. Is it just defective or what is going on?
